In this review, I’ll talk about the pros and cons of Hoyee Eyes Smart Plus and other brands that are selling the same glasses with different names.
Smart Plus is another product from Hoyee Eyes released in October 2020.
Even though it’s called Plus, there seem to be no significant advantages over their Original series.
According to the brand, the release of this series is just for customers who feel more comfortable with physical button control.
Apart from Hoyee Eyes, there are other brands that are selling the same glasses (exactly the same glasses arms with different rims, at most).

There is no evident improvement regarding audio quality.
In a quiet room, at about 60% volume level you can hear the music loud and clear.
One of the features of the Smart Plus series is the wide range of volume. That means you can adjust the volume to 100% and hear the music even in the noisiest street.
Although in some rare cases at 100% level you may hear some cracks (with some music genres) .
In general, its audio quality is on par with Hoyee Eyes original series.
Here’s a video where we test the audio quality of the Smart Plus series. Compare it with other glasses’ sound quality and choose the ones that fit you best.back to menu ↑
Noticeable sound leakage within 1-foot distance at 80% volume in a quiet environment.
Most of these directional speaker glasses don’t have good leakage control.
If you care too much about your privacy with audio glasses, there are really few that qualify.back to menu ↑
In spite of the larger batteries equipped at the end side of the arms, Smart Plus series have quite a balanced structure design so you actually feel less weight either on your nose or ears.back to menu ↑
Ease of Use
When it comes to ease of use, Smart Plus is top-notch due to its physical buttons.
Touch control has been better and better since the invention of iPhone. This is somehow not the case in Bluetooth audio glasses.
Whether it’s G1 (perhaps one of the earliest bone conduction glasses) or Vue glasses, the touch control just drives me crazy from time to time.
Hoyee Eyes Smart Plus series, together with some other brands (such as Bose Frames), as a result, chose another direction to directly add the good old physical buttons instead.
This turns out to be the most intuitive interactive control currently as you can easily reach for the button and instantly know whether your action is successful or not.back to menu ↑
We’ve managed to get in touch with the manufacturer of Hoyee Eyes Smart Plus Series and got some information about the similar glasses one of our readers had messaged us about.
These glasses were the 1st gen of the Smart Plus (and the general appearance is just trying to copy Huawei’s smart glasses) and only had one button on the left side of the arm.
The speakers inside were for the purpose of an experiment as the whole glasses were regarded as a prototype to prove that glasses with speakers of such size were possible.
Later on, some other manufacturers picked up this project and continued the production.
So you might want to avoid these glasses with only one button on the arm.
We’ve acquired one of these glasses and have tested the audio in the below video (100% volume).
- Physical button for great control accuracy
- Good audio quality
- Larger battery for longer playtime
- Thicker arms and heavier in general
